Ida nelson is a four-year-old preschooler who was told he couldn’t wear braids to preschool in the west side of Chicago at providence Saint mel school March 24, 2021 was the day that Ida Nelson got sent home due to the hairstyle he was wearing. The school says it was against a black hair policy because he wore braids. The issue we are facing today is why do we still have black hair policies in 2021. And does it affect the Arvada community do we have hair policies in Arvada. And if so what are those policies and how can we change it so that every kid is allowed to have their hair whatever kind of way they want to be able to express themselves.
