Footballs season has come to a end, lets talk about some big things that have happened over their season! First things first, they have finished with the best record since 2005 that we know of going 6-3 over all. Their league record was 2-3.
The first two games the bulldogs played they won, the first game was Prospect Ridge Academy and the score for that game was 54-6. Senior quarterback Trevor Lucero threw seven touchdowns starting him out with 340 yards for the season. The following game was Littleton and the bulldogs won 35-28 in exciting triple overtime. This was a little bit of a bigger deal as the bulldogs lost to Littleton last year 18-28.
Going into their third game of the season against Englewood the bulldogs pulled out a big win with a score of 48-36. This was a big game as they haven’t beat Englewood since 2012. They went on to play Middle Park. This was another win for the bulldogs, the score for this game was 21-13. Not as big of a win as we have seen but still a good win for the bulldogs.
At this point the bulldogs were 4-0, non league. They went into their first league game against Brush, this was a lose for the bulldogs the score being 41-13. This was definitely a tougher game for the bulldogs as there was some key players missing.
The next week they went into their homecoming league game against Timnath and they came out with a win of 42-27. This was a very big game for the bulldogs that included a 99 yard fumble recovery from Senior Tight end Christian Lake.
Going into their last three games, all of which were league games first one was against University and the bulldogs lost 39-0. Moving onto the second to last game against Sterling they lost 35-21. Nothing big happened in either of those two games.
The bulldogs last game against Weld Central they won 33-18. In this game they honored their senior class of 2024. This was a emotional game for everyone on the team including coaches and family. The bulldogs had a great last game and they definitely went out with a bang this season breaking records and making history.
Congratulations.
to the bulldogs on a strong finish for their 2023-2024 season!
