What might one need or want to know about the PSAT/SAT?

Anything that I might prioritize for needing to know about the PSAT would be that it is great practice for the SAT you have to take as a junior which represents you to colleges and can boost your eligibility for your favored college selection. 

The only other importance of the PSAT would be to earn a different form of scholarship that can add prestige to your resume I believe.

This is called a national merit that can earn a student up to 2,500$ as a one time payment.
