What is it like to be a freshman at AHS? Well I’ll tell you I’ve taken multiple interviews and came to the conclusion in my opinion. Being a freshman is a very developmental time for a person to go through, because it’s a big transition into something new and a lot of freshmen are trying to find their way in this crazy place .It’s exciting and scary at the same time it opens up a future to anyone who works hard enough at their goals and dreams.
From the interviews I took, here are some of the biggest takeaways I found and most of them have points that are common. For example, one of the questions I asked was “how do you like your teachers?” One of the responses I got was “they have been good, they have given us opportunities to make up work”- Fidel Flores and I agree with this because they have given extra time and given more opportunities to get work done and have made things very clear.
Another question I asked was “if given the option would you become a senior” and the answers I got back really surprised me cause all the answers, were the same they said they would rather stay a freshman “I wanna make all the high school memories” -Gage Kowing this showed me that being a freshman is really important because its the time to make mistakes and learn from them and that is what AHS does best they allow students to learn from mistakes this makes our school be a functional building.
So in conclusion I think being a freshman at AHS is like a choir because we all need each other in some way. When we pull together and work as one we create a beautiful harmony I feel if sometimes being a freshman can feel overwhelming, but I think that this is one of the most exciting times anyone can live through and I feel as if we should go into something new with the mentality of wanting to learn and grow and become the best people we can be and thats what I feel being a freshman should be about.
