Football is starting out the season strong with a 4-0 record. All four games that have been played this season have been non-league games. In their season opener against Prospect Ridge Academy, they won 54-6.
In this game there was 340 passing yards, and 193 rushing yards. Defense also had a good game with a total of four sacks, and 38 total tackles. The Bulldogs really showed out this game. Senior running back Gabriel Munguia led with 120 yards, and 14 carries. He also had one rushing touchdown and he had seven total tackles and one tackle for loss.
The following week the Bulldogs took on Littleton. They won 35-28. There was 327 passing yards, and 191 rushing yards. On defense it was a big game with a total of 77 tackles, and three sacks. This game was more challenging for the bulldogs, but they pulled through.
Next, the Bulldogs had their first home game against Englewood, with a win 48-36. In this game passing yards were 276, and rushing yards were at 153. Defense had yet another big game with a total of 67 tackles and six sacks.
Coming to the fourth week of the season the Bulldogs took on Middle Park with another win of 21-13. Passing yards this game were 294, and rushing yards were at 136. Defense had another big game with a total of 62 tackles, and three sacks.
Senior corner back Joziah Barajas had four pass breakups. He was really involved against the run game as well. He says he got a tackle for loss on a key fourth down. The Bulldogs are starting off strong and we hope they counite this game play.
