The 2023 boys soccer season has officially come to an end, so let’s recap the season. We had a total of 6 home games, meaning 9 games were away. We had 0 wins, 1 tie, and 14 losses.
Game 1 was a non league home game against Weld Central, where we unfortunately lost our season opener 2-0. The second game was our first away game of the season in a non league game against Jefferson. The match was 1-1 all the way up until the end, when Jefferson scored in the final minute of the game. Next game was the first league game of the season, and we were playing away against Englewood. Despite our best efforts we lost 5-0.
Our current record is 0-4, but we kept pushing. The next matchup was at home, and non league against Denver West, where we ended up losing 10-0. 2 days later we played a non league away game against Conifer. Unfortunately we lost 6-0. We kept our heads high though, and played a non league away game against Alameda. We did not win nor lose, as the game ended in a tie. The next 2 games we played were both league away games, against Fort Lupton and Middle Park. We lost both 10-0.
We did not let this get us down though, as our next game was our senior night. The matchup was against KIIP, in a league game at home. We celebrated our beloved seniors, and senior Diego scored a goal. The final score was 1-8, not in our favor. 2 days later we played an away matchup against Arrupe Jesuit in a league game, where we sadly lost 10-0. Next up was Sheridan, in an away league game. We lost 3-0.
The next 3 games were all home, and league games. We lost to Lake County 9-2, Montview 9-2, and Pinnacle 10-0. The next game was our last before the season came to an end, and it was an away league game against Bruce Randolph. Unfortunately we lost 10-0.
Even though the 2023 season did not go exactly as we planned, we know we will bounce back and prevail in the end. Go Bulldogs!
