After multiple bouts, Boys wrestling had their opening dual against Golden where we unfortunately lost 30-24 on December 7, 2023.
The first 2 matches, of the night were JV. Sophmore Danny Henriquez Jimenez and Peat Rapa both performed and both unfortunately lost.
That did not get to us though, as it is time for varsity to compete in this epic duel. Varsity’s first 4 matches in the dual we could not pull through for any of them, putting the score Arvada 0, Golden 24.
We did not let that get to us though, and star wrestler Joseph Ortiz put us on the board for the first time of the night. This win put a spark in our squad, and we went on a massive win streak. Multiple wrestlers won their matches, making the score Arvada 20, Golden 24.
We were down 4 points, and had one match left, and one opportunity to maximize and perform a comeback. As the final match came to a conclusion, we sadly did not win, but it was a great effort and competition. We still have so much more to prove, and we appreciate all the support.
