The themes picked for Spirit Week were thought about precisely because if you want people to participate in an activity or something you created, it has to be themes that high schoolers/ teenagers like or are interested in.
One of the themes picked for Spirit Week is that you can wear your costume, which can be whatever you want it to be, which is cool but also risky.
Some costumes can be inappropriate for school and break the dress code. For example, some student’s costumes may have props or headpieces attached to their costume, which is against the dress code states in Non-Allowable Dress: “Items that make the student’s face unidentifiable (clothing or headgear worn for religious and COVID or medical purposes are expected)”
I think that Spirit Week can also be a way to express themselves and is a fun way to see what ideas students come up with for each theme.
One of the students’ costumes is a killer ballerina and that student may have props like a fake knife or tool and that’s against school guidelines.
