As the holidays are coming up, families have different traditions that they do on Christmas.
For example, some families don’t celebrate Christmas because of their religion or some other people celebrate Hanukkah.
When we asked around, Fidel said he celebrates like this,
“When I celebrate Christmas, I go to church first, then to my aunty’s house around 8 to eat dinner. Then we watch movies and open gifts at midnight on December 25.”
But we didn’t just want to interview people who only celebrate Christmas, we wanted to see everyone’s perspective about the holidays.
So then we found someone who didn’t celebrate Christmas
Our classmate Emilleo doesn’t celebrate Christmas and when we asked him about it this was 9his response.
“I don’t celebrate Christmas, I just hang out with my family and spend our time together.”
Those are some of the most common traditions surrounding the school but there is also one that is celebrated during the holidays Hanukkah.
Hanukkah is a Jewish festival. This holiday marks the re-dedication of the temple in Jerusalem.
Their is one person that we know that celebrates Hanukkah Gage stated,
“My mom will give me one smaller item gift, like a stocking stuffer gift each night of Hanukkah so 8 gifts, and on the last night we cook this Jewish pasta.”
These are some of the many things people celebrate and do around the school during the holidays.
Merry Christmas!
