Many students at Arvada work in fast food or retail, but we also have students who choose a different path and cut hair.
Harley Medina (harley.blendz) says, “I started cutting hair because my dad gave me bad haircuts so I started cutting my own hair. I was only cutting my hair for a long time and then my friend asked for a taper and I started getting good at cutting other people’s hair so I would cut my brothers and friends’ hair before I started doing anyone else.”
Harley charges $30 a haircut and makes about $400 a week.
Jason Gomez (jdgcutzz) says “I started cutting hair because I found it interesting and wanted money. I play soccer so I’m limited to only a couple hours to cut hair. Angel was my first cut and I messed him up so bad but I watched youtube and tiktok videos to learn and kept practicing”
Jason also charges $30 per cut and doesn’t plan to do this as a career but an easy way to make money
